Entering and Exiting
Since breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day we encourage all of our students to participate in City Spring's breakfast program which will begin at 7:30a.m. and end at 8:00 a.m.
Students who participate in the breakfast program are admitted into the building through the entrance by the gymnasium at 7:30a.m. This entrance is near the Lombard street side of the building. We cannot admit students earlier because adult supervision is not available. Students who come to school before 7:30 will have to wait outside until the correct time.
All students are expected to be seated with their homeroom class in the auditorium for elementary students and the cafeteria for the middle school students at 8:10 a.m. in order to not be marked tardy or absent. Entry into the building is through the entrance next to the gymnasium. Don’t forget students will be marked late if they are not seated in the school auditorium by 8:10 a.m.
Students who come to school after 8:10 a.m. are to enter the building near the steps located near the small playground. They must ring the bell to enter the building.
The City Springs Morning Assembly takes place in the auditorium every school day at 8:10 am. Announcements are made, teachers brag about individual students who have done well or classes who have made progress, classes demonstrate what they have learned and the entire school recites the City Springs School Pledge. (link) Every month, each teacher chooses a Student of the Month, all of whom are honored during a Morning Assembly.
At 3:15 p.m. students are escorted to designated exits by their classroom teachers.
- Pre-K - Kindergarten will be escorted to the door by the playground.
- Students on the upper level will be escorted to the main door near the steps and the small playground and parking lot.
- Students on the office level will be escorted to the side door located on E. Pratt Street.
If there is severe weather and it is announced on radio and television that Baltimore City Public Schools are opening late, students should report at these times…
One hour late: students report at 9:10 a.m.
Breakfast is 8:30-9:00a.m.
Two hours late: students report at 10:10 a.m.
Breakfast is 9:30 -10:00a.m.
